a summer time sawtooth adventure

I have been mourning summer since the first day of class when I feel asleep with my face in my books in the library. I miss long days and adventures. And I really miss not having homework to do all day long. Over the summer there were many adventures had and I think it's about time I share a few. The beau and I had a few days off at the same time. So, we filled our four and a half days off work with kayaking, celebrating my sister's birthday, a 4th of July street party, fireworks, swing dancing, and three days backpacking in the Sawtooth Mountains. The beau had never been to the Sawtooths before and I couldn't wait to show him what a magical place it is. These are the mountains that stole my heart when I first moved to Idaho four years ago. We took a trail into Upper Baron Lakes which could be a day hike in and a day hike out. But, we were on vacation so we took a leisurely three days. It was glorious. The weather was perfect. The mountains were spectacular. Only downside? The darn mosquitoes that ate us alive!
An adventure none the less. And a beautiful one at that.

falling into fall

The weather broke here in Boise this week. My mother's response was, "Thank goodness, I have had enough of sunshine". Once a Brit, always a Brit. We need a little grey now and then. The temperatures have dropped and every coffee store is beginning to smell like pumpkin spice and I broke out a warm scarf today. Fall is here, it would seem. This summer has been one of the most magical times of my life - it was a time filled with immense joy and wonder and new relationships. I can hardly believe the richness of this season past, and, because of this amazement I am excited for this new season: fall. God's goodness never ceased to amaze me and I can only dream of what adventures are to come......
